St. John’s Happenings

News from the Centre Street Food Pantry:   We are preparing for summer already!  We’re starting to stock up for summer when families might need a bit of extra support with their children at home for 3 meals a day, plus snacks. Suggestions to donate: coffee, cereal, peanut butter, jelly, canned fruit, juice boxes and diapers.  Please leave your donations on the bench in the upper hall.  Thank you!

The Reverend Mark D. W. Edington is our Celebrant and Preacher at the 8:00 and 10:00 a.m. Holy Eucharist Service, Rite II this Sunday, May 17, 2015.  Child Care will be provided.

Church School News: This Sunday, May 17, the children will be learning about Pentecost.  The children will start in church for the 10AM service. Godly Play is offered for children 4 years old through 2nd grade. Older children (3rd – 6th grade) will be assisting with the younger children and participating in the activities. Child care is available for younger children. If you are interested in having your child(ren) attend Sunday School, willing to volunteer or have ideas about the program, please contact Jennifer Morgan at jmmorgan321@aol.com.

We are not doing tongues of fire this week because St. John’s will not be hosting Pentecost.  Please let me know if you have any questions.

Parish Spring Weekend Clean Up:  Saturday, May 16th and May 23st  –  9 am – Noon:  We have many gardening projects outside that need to be done. If you can come on either or both mornings, even if it’s just for a couple of hours, it would be much appreciated! Thank you, and if you have any questions, please speak to Rose Yevich.

Coffee Hour Sign-Up Sheet for April – June is posted on the Parish Office door.  Please take the time to sign up. The following Sundays are still available:  June 7, 21 and 28.  We will then have our more relaxed Coffee Hour of cookies and cold beverages for July and August. Thank you!
