News from the Centre Street Food Pantry:   We are preparing for summer already!  We’re starting to stock up for summer when families might need a bit of extra support with their children at home for 3 meals a day, plus snacks. Suggestions to donate: coffee, cereal, peanut butter, jelly, canned fruit, juice boxes and diapers.  Please leave your donations on the bench in the upper hall. Thank you!

Dear Fellow-Ministers of Saint John’s,

I know that many of you have been keeping Everett Gilpin in your prayers since his accident and surgery in April. It makes me very happy to be able to share the good news – Everett is scheduled to go home Wednesday, May 20th!  What wonderful news for Everett and his whole family!  Please keep them all in your thoughts and prayers as Everett continues his road to recovery at home!   ̶  Mark

Volunteer for B-Safe this summer!

B-Safe is an Episcopal summer program for “children in need” in Boston.

The program is designed to keep vulnerable children off the streets and in fun academic environments where they can feel safe and prosper.

This is an enormously popular & meaningful volunteer opportunity where numerous types of giving options exist:

July 26 and August 2nd – 1-4:30 PM

Meet and cook meals at St. John’s. Wine and cheese will be provided to enhance the camaraderie.

July 27-30 and August 3-5 – 10:45 AM – 1:30 PM

Serve meals at the Epiphany School in Dorchester & enjoy reading with the children.

July 31  & August 6 – 9:30 AM – 2:30 PM

Host field trip with games and activities. Picnic-style cooking/lunch @ Houghton’s Pond, Milton MA & Farm Naturel, Lincoln MA respectively.

This great experience will be shared by Newton’s St. Paul’s and Trinity Parish in July and 5 additional parishes in August.

More information will be available after 10AM service at Trinity Church this Sunday, May 24.

Please contact Libby Seaman (epseaman@comcast.net) or Glenn Vanaman (jska-vanaman@att.net) if you are interested in volunteering.
