Conversations About Race and Reconciliation

As conversations around our country become more rancorous, St. John’s is making efforts to learn about and to discuss, to appreciate and to embrace differences among people.

In 2018, we participated in a full-day workshop entitled “Brave Conversations: Building bridges across difference. Gracious Dialogue on Race and other issues of our time.” The event was held at St. Paul’s Episcopal Cathedral.

Courageous Conversations is organized in partnership with the Milton Interfaith Clergy Association. “It is a monthly series of dialogue-centered programs on racism and privilege designed to address racial healing and justice” in Mattapan and Milton. The Massachusetts Episcopal Diocese Mission Institute offers a Facilitation Lab where attendees can learn new skills and practice techniques for discussing race.

Upcoming events in the Courageous Conversations series will be announced soon!
