About Us

Who We Are

Saint John’s is a small church with a big sense of community. We are a gathering of people supporting each other in our common search for God’s purpose in our lives. As an Episcopal church, we are governed by the people in the pews and part of a broader community of Christians at the local, national, and global level.

What We Believe

We are a Christian church in the Episcopal tradition. That means we are, first and foremost, a Christian church, and that we have found in the history, the liturgy, and the doctrine of the Episcopal church what for us is the most meaningful and most challenging expression of that faith. We are a gathering of faithful people. We find in this place an opportunity for genuine community, coming to be part of a group of people trying to live out as best as we can the faith we profess.

We are not perfect, by any means; and that is why we need and welcome each other’s help. We are a resource to our community. We engage in mission activities here in Newton and elsewhere. Through our membership in this church many of us find ways to serve those in need.
