St. John’s Happenings

News from the Centre Street Food Pantry:

Soup Season is Coming!  The Food Pantry needs lots of canned soup, along with cereal, granola bars, coffee and canned fruit.  There has also been a request for larger sized diapers (size 4-6).  If you could take advantage of a sale, or have a coupon for them, they would be greatly appreciated.  Limited access to diapers has been cited as a major source of stress for low-income families.  Thank  you for your continued donations

The Reverend Mark D. W. Edington is our Celebrant and Preacher at the 10:00 a.m. Holy Eucharist, Rite II Service, August 25, 2013.  Child Care will be provided.

Mark holds office hours at Saint John’s on Saturday mornings between 9:00 a.m. and 12:00 noon.  If you have any pastoral concerns, you can reach Mark at 617.645.4691 or email him atmark.edington@gmail.com.

Request for Help from the Centre Street Food Pantry:  On Monday Morning, August 26th – helping hands are needed once again for a pick up at the Greater Boston Food Bank.  If you can help load up the truck at the food bank, transportation will leave Newton no later than 9 a.m.  Or, you could help at the other end to unload the truck at the pantry at 11 Homer Street, Newton Centre, they will arrive back at 10:15 a.m.  Please send an email to centrestfoodpantry@gmail.com if you can help on either end. Thank you!
