8:1:13St. John’s Happenings

This Sunday, September 1st, at 5:00 p.m., we’ll hold our Summer Eucharist Service, a simplified, casual service for a summer evening.  Celebrant and Preacher will be The Reverend Todd Miller.  And, at 6:00 p.m., we’ll adjourn to the Otis Street Lawn for our first-Sunday-of-the-month cookout.  Child Care will be provided. News from the Centre Street Food Pantry:

Soup Season is Coming!  The Food Pantry needs lots of canned soup, along with cereal, granola bars, coffee and canned fruit.  There has also been a request for larger sized diapers (size 4-6).  If you could take advantage of a sale, or have a coupon for them, they would be greatly appreciated.  Limited access to diapers has been cited as a major source of stress for low-income families.  Thank  you for your continued donations

This Saturday, August 31 at 11:00 a.m., there will be a service to celebrate the life of our good friend, Nancy Goldin, who passed away recently.  The family has extended an invitation to a reception that will follow the service at 51 Lincoln, Newton Highlands.  Here is a link to read Nancy’s obituary:  http://beecherflooksfh.com/book-of-memories/1658382/Goldin-Nancy/obituary.php

The Parish Office will return to the regular schedule of Tues.-Thurs. 9am-2pm; Fri. 9am-noon following Labor Day Weekend.
