St. John’s Happenings

Have you stopped on the Lowell Street walkway to see the St. John’s Fairy Garden?  It is a lovely creation of plantings and greenery, with a bridge, animal figures, gnomes and a miniature table and chairs!  Thank you to Rose and to her little helping hands for this little Garden of Eden.

Centre Street Food Pantry:  The need for food does not take a vacation!  Our Christmas Giving Tree reminds us that donations are still very much needed.  Please keep the Food Pantry in your thoughts this summer – the shelves will be in need of re-stocking!  Thank you

If you are free to do a delivery of St. John’s contributions while Marjorie is away this summer, the Pantry is open every Tuesday, 4-7 p.m. and the 1st Saturday of each month 11 a.m. – 2 p.m.  Contact Paula for any further information you may need.  Thank you

The Reverend Mark D. W. Edington is our Celebrant and Preacher at the 8:00 a.m. and 10:00 a.m. Holy Eucharist Service, June 22, 2014.  Child Care will be provided.

Please Note:  This Sunday is our final service at 8:00 a.m.  It will be back on the calendar on Sunday, September 7th.

Mark’s office hours at Saint John’s will be this Saturday morning, 9:00 a.m. – Noon.  If you have any pastoral concerns, you can reach Mark at 617.645.4691 or email him at mark.edington@gmail.com.

Church School is on hiatus for the summer. The nursery is available every Sunday, though. Church School will start up again in September. Be on the lookout for more information as we get closer to the fall!

Summer Office Hours:  The Parish Office will be open TuesdayWednesday and Thursday from 9:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. through Labor Day.  As always, voicemail messages will continue to be retrieved daily!

Summertime Coffee Hour:   For the months of July and August we will keep the fellowship of coffee hour fuss-free.  We encourage folks to drop off a package or two of cookies and/or lemonade and iced tea to have in reserve.  It will be easier if you bring in bottles/cans/containers of cold drinks so that things do not need to be mixed causing additional clean up.  Your donations can be left in the kitchenette or refrigerator off of the Loring Room.  Thank you
