St. John’s Happenings

Parish-Wide Spring Clean Up: This Saturday, May 24th and May 31st  –  9 am – 10:30 am.  We have many projects inside that need to be done. And, for all our gardeners, Rose Yevich, will organize some planting of bulbs.  If you can come on either or both mornings, it would be much appreciated!  Thank you, and if you have any questions, please speak to Junior Warden, Laura Brewer.

Also, this Saturday, May 24, following yard work at St. John’s, we will construct our very OWN container gardens for either sun or shade (less than 5 hours of sun/day) locations.  We will have many different varieties of plants available (see photos) for use.  Bring containers with soil (we can supply some soil). If you don’t have a container and don’t mind spending a few shekels to buy one, please contact Rose (grdenmum@yahoo.com), and we will get you started!

Centre Street Food Pantry Open House and Community Thank You Day will be Sunday June 1, 3-5 p.m.  Stop by to celebrate the new space and meet new Manager, Natalie Surmeli.  The Pantry is at 11 Homer Street, Newton Centre (Trinity Church), entrance on Furber Lane.

Please leave your donations for delivery to the Pantry at the Saint John’s Giving Tree in the Parish Hall.  Especially needed:  soups, meals in a can and pasta.  Thank You!

The Reverend Richard Simeone is our Guest Celebrant and Preacher at the 8:00 a.m. and 10:00 a.m. Holy Eucharist Service, May 25, 2014.  Child Care will be provided.
