St. John’s Happenings

The 2nd Fall Parish Work Day at St. John’s will take place this Saturday, November 8th from 9:00 a.m. – NoonCoffee and bagels will be provided.  Both outdoor and indoor work still needs to be done.  Please bring your work gloves and appropriate outdoor clothing if you care to work outdoors. Thank you, and if you have any questions, please speak to Junior Wardens, Laura Brewer or Rose Yevich.

News from the Centre Street Food Pantry:

St. John’s is encouraged to help the Food Pantry stock their shelves with canned and shelf-stable side dish items as Thanksgiving nears!  Suggestions are:  canned vegetables, mushroom soup, French’s onion strings, canned pie filling, piecrust mix, cake or cookie mix.  For more suggestions, please see flyer on the Parish Office door.  As always, they will be collecting and distributing supermarket gift cards (any denomination) as well!  Please Note:  Your contributions should now be left on the side bench on the right in the upper hall.  The Dedicated Food Pantry Volunteers send their heartfelt thanks!

 Church School News:

This Sunday, the Sunday School children will be learning about the Holy Family.  The children will start in church for the 10AM service and be dismissed to Sunday School after the first hymn. Godly Play is offered for children 4 years old through 2nd grade. Older children (3rd – 6th grade) will assist with the younger children and participate in the activities. Child care is available for younger children. If you are interested in having your child(ren) attend Sunday School, willing to volunteer or have ideas about the program, please contact Jennifer Morgan at jmmorgan321@aol.com.

FALL PARISH FELLOWSHIP DINNER, NOVEMBER 15

Everyone is invited to join together for our Fall Fellowship Dinner on the evening of Saturday, November 15. We will gather at 6:00 p.m. for a festive potluck dinner with Entertainment To Be Revealed; child care will be provided. Please come and join with us as we celebrate the gifts of this harvest season and renew our annual tradition of a whole-parish gathering in the fall!

Our sister Jennifer Nolan continues to look for a new place to live.
