News from the Centre Street Food Pantry: We are preparing for summer already! We’re starting to stock up for summer when families might need a bit of extra support with their children at home for 3 meals a day, plus snacks. Suggestions to donate: cereal, peanut butter, jelly, canned fruit and juice boxes for the upcoming months. You can leave your donations on the bench in the upper hall. Thank you!
The Reverend Mark D. W. Edington is our Celebrant and Edward Dunar is our Preacher at the 8:00 and 10:00 a.m. Holy Eucharist Service, Rite II this Sunday, May 3, 2015. Child Care will be provided.
Church School News: This Sunday, May 3, the children will be discussing the Parable of the Good Shepherd. The children will start in church for the 10AM service and be dismissed to Sunday School after the first hymn. Godly Play is offered for children 4 years old through 2nd grade. Older children (3rd – 6th grade) will assist with the younger children and participate in the activities. Child care is available for younger children. If you are interested in having your child(ren) attend Sunday School, willing to volunteer or have ideas about the program, please contact Jennifer Morgan at jmmorgan321@aol.com.
Coffee Hour Sign-Up Sheet for April – June is posted on the Parish Office door. Please take the time to sign up – we have many Sundays available! Participating in this fun part of fellowship at St. John’s is easier than you think! If you are interested in hosting one, there are plenty of veteran coffee hour providers who can guide you and answer your questions. Thank you!
This Year’s Deanery Confirmation Service is this Saturday, May 2nd, 2:00 p.m. at Church of the Advent on Beacon Hill. All are invited to attend and support this year’s confirmand from St. John’s – Abby Strayer.
Can you Help with the Fair? Serve tea, prepare sweets or finger sandwiches, help set up Friday night, help clean up Saturday afternoon.
