MANNA (Many Angels Needed Now and Always) is a ministry of and with the homeless community in downtown Boston. St. John’s is sponsoring the MANNA lunch on Monday, March 30th. Through MANNA, we seek not only to welcome folks across differences of class, wealth, culture, race and mental ability, but also to empower all people to claim their place as essential members of our community.
March 30th is a Fifth Monday and our parish’s turn to help with lunch service at St. Paul’s Cathedral in Boston. Please let Libby Seaman know if you are interested in joining a group to serve lunch (Manna Community Lunch). If you are interested in joining a car pool to the Cathedral on Monday, please let Libby Seaman know (epseaman@comcast.net). We’ll be leaving from St. John’s around 11:00 am and return by about 1:00 pm. Whether or not you can join in person, contributions of baked goods for dessert—whether home made or store bought—are welcomed. Desserts should be wrapped in individual servings and can be left in the Loring Room on Sunday March 29th. This is a long-standing ministry of St. John’s, and newcomers are encouraged to participate!
